Contact Lenses - Questions & Answers

  1. Do you sell all types of contacts?
We sell a wide range of soft and hard contact lenses representing all the major brands and types available in the United States.

  2. Is a contact lens prescription different than a glasses prescription?
Yes in addition to the power of the lenses, a contact lens prescription also specifies the size, curvature and brand of lens. See also Prescription Help

  3. Your site says a lens is good for 2 weeks, but my doctor told me to change it every week. What should I do?
You should always follow the instructions given by your doctor when deciding how long to wear your contacts. The categories given on the web-site are a broad guide only. Individual wearing schedules will be determined by your doctor based on the results of your eye exam and your lifestyle.

  4. If I wear regular contacts, can I order colors in the same brand? How about in a different brand? If you are wearing a clear version of a lens that also comes in colors, then you can order the colored version of your lens without undergoing a new contact lens exam. If it's a different lens type, you sh

  5. Do I have to get a new eye-exam every year?
Regular eye exams are important not only to check your prescription but also to evaluate the health of your eyes. This is especially important for contact lens wearers because the contacts could be causing damage to your eyes without necessarily causing any obvious symptoms.

  6. Does my doctor have to release my contact lens prescription to me? to you?
Yes. Your doctor is legally required to hand a copy of your prescription to you at the end of your contact lens fitting (as long as you have paid the exam fee). Also, if you order contact lenses from us, your doctor is required to respond to a prescription request from us within 8 business hours.

  7. I see 20/20, why do I need a prescription to buy colored contacts?
You still need to have the fit for the contact lenses evaluated even if you don't need vision correction.

If you are having any unexplained eye discomfort, watering, vision change or redness, remove your contact lenses immediately and consult your eye care professional before wearing your lenses again.
